Luke grew up in Denver, CO and came to Nebraska in 2005 to play baseball for the University of Nebraska. He went on to play in the St. Louis Cardinals minor league system and it was during that time he was converted by Gods’ grace through the faithful ministry of another baseball player and his local church. Luke moved to Omaha in 2008 and joined Omaha Bible Church whose expository preaching, theological training and mentoring helped fuel a growing burden to evangelize and disciple others. In 2012, He was asked by Emmaus leadership to come and help with the church plant and has been in various leadership roles ever since. A UNL graduate (2011), Luke also holds an MDiv from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City (2016). In 2017-2018, Luke completed the Emmaus Pastoral Residency and began to serve as Interim Senior Pastor. Luke also serves on The Gospel Coalition Omaha Regional Chapter Leadership Team and is working with other pastors to promote gospel-centered ministry in Omaha. Luke’s desire in ministry is to see the local church better portray the beauty and glory of Christ. In the church, he is committed to expository preaching, cultivating a culture of evangelism and discipleship and helping men and women understand and value the complementarity of their God-given roles. Luke and Heather have been blessed with 4 children: Milly, Stella, Theodore and Hugo. They live a few blocks west of downtown Omaha.
